There are tons of easter eggs that are never discussed directly, and you feel so damn proud of yourself when you find one. Example: The Vetinari oligarchs are a parody of the Medicis (medical/vetinary).

2023-08-22 13:38:25 +0000 UTCSmall Gods is one of the Pratchett books I wish were taught in schools (the others are The Truth, Jingo, Interesting Times and Reaper Man in no particular order). I would recommend reading them chronologically, because the evolution of the world building flavour feels more natural. The Colour Of Magic is a parody of the fantasy movies and comics of late 70s early 80, while the later books (Small Gods amongst them) are more of a reflection of society at large.
