Also in regards to the poll about climate change, IMO I think that it’s less that there’s so few people concerned about climate change, but that “Is climate change a crisis? Y/n?” is a poorly worded question. In a lot of people’s minds, myself included, “crisis” or “emergency” implies a briefer situation than the time scale at which climate change is affecting the world. (Like a fire, car crash, shooting, snow storm, hurricane. Etc.) As you pointed out, other polls about climate change have shown much higher numbers of people responding that they were very/extremely concerned about it, which is further indication that this is just an ambiguously worded poll.
