Well that was fucking weird… as you went through that mini I slowly realized I knew the story because apparently it’s the movie of a Christmas book that we had growing up, but with a different title. The book is “Christmas Day in the Morning” and it would always make my dad tear up when he read it to us. We read it every Christmas until I was maybe 15ish, though it started to become a little tedious and I was always a much bigger fan of our other annual Christmas reading, the Best Christmas Pageant Ever. The book, by the way, was a little more clear that the gift is not that the dad gets to go back to bed and sleep in, it’s just that he gets to see the kids come downstairs on Christmas morning.
