2024-06-21 02:20:23 +0000 UTCI'm taking Anna's call to throw weird Christian music in her direction. When I was a young teen in Baptist Sunday school, we did the True Love Waits program. It's a virginity pledge thing, the current hotness for religious teens in the 90s. For some unfathomable reason, the program came with an album of Christian rock, with thematically appropriate lyrics. I'm now wondering if TLW commissioned the album, or just picked through a pre-existing catalog of "no fucking" music? Anyway, my Sunday school class became a bit obsessed with a particular song, and it's the only one I remember at all. It's called "The Party's Over," by Kenny Marks.

I couldn't help but think about how I feel about dating now that my most recent serious relationships included rape and emotional abuse, respectively. I've been unlucky, but people are generally still worth trusting. Also, I found Scathing during a Vulgarity for Charity in I think 2016? Anyway. I love the charity and the roasts and I'm glad they'll be sticking around.
