2024-07-25 17:55:35 +0000 UTCRegarding the discussion about Biden's debate performance and record at the end, In a reasonable world, the debate performance wouldn't really matter and Biden would easily win based on his domestic policy record and not being Trump. But, if this were a reasonable world, we would be coming to the end of Clinton's second term and worrying about beating whatever Mitt Romney clone the GOP trotted out after losing to her in a landslide in 2016 and 2020 Perception defines reality in elections. The debate made a huge chunk of the electorate perceive Biden as unelectable, and that is going to have a huge impact whether or not it should. More people vote based on vibes than on policy
