This is definitely a candidate for best diatribe ever. I've re-listened to it several times over the last couple of weeks and it both inspires and brings tears to my eyes every time.

Furious Typist

As a former fed and casualty to a January 20 executive order, I was dismayed by the 'Farnsworth' quote. Are there civil servants who do nothing? Yes. Are there contractors who do nothing? Also, yes. The government is made up of more than just NASA. Now is not the time to pit feds against contractors; you can be damn sure they will be affected by these EOs, and many already have been with rolling back DEI hiring. I am all for criticizing the government. I am all for discussing waste on both sides. But the discussion at this time shouldn't be what the government did wrong last year - it should be the hiring freeze, the closure of DEI and workplace raids of related material, the potential firing of countless probationary employees and forced retirements of career servants, the freezing of federal contracts. Unfortunately, most people won't care until they're affected. And by then, it'll be too late.
