To add some color to your patreon only portion. I work as a regulator. Prior to this organization, I was at a few different hedge funds. I’ve been there for almost 15 years. Loved every minute of it, until now. I really enjoyed working on this side, protecting investors means I’ve been able to get millions sent back to pension funds. I could have left at any moment and made a lot more money but I really like it here until President Musk took over. Also, Eli brought up a great point about NASA. I’ve been to a few Quant Funds. I’ve literally interviewed PhD physicists who worked at CERN but moved to NY to work at a hedge fund because they were able to make 7 figures a year. It’s such a shame because we lose great minds to Wall Street that should be working in the field of science somewhere but it’s tough to say to them that they could make 150k/yr running experiments that take 10 years or they can come to midtown Manhattan and make 1.5Million/yr running mathematical models. We lose out on great scientific advancement for someone’s ability to beat the S&P 500.
