2025-08-25 18:09:19 +0000 UTCSo glad they brought up ios shortcuts. Something that Burnie didn't mention about iOS shortcuts is the automations. I swear by these! If this is the place, I'd like to share the handful I use. Automations: -When I snooze my alarm-it fetches the current temperature/weather status and reads it out-loud. This was amazing when the weather was changing where I live and I needed to know if I wanted a hoodie or coat to take my dog out first thing after waking up. I live in a house now and don't have to worry about that as much, but I keep this on and enjoy the extra information. -When I arrive at the proximity of my work building - automatically silences my phone. I never have to worry about being in a meeting or a client call and my phone making noise. Additionally I have another automation that runs when I leave that area and it unsilences my phone. -When connected to a specific bluetooth device - starts playing a specific playlist in Apple Music. I have a specific bluetooth speaker I like to pull out and turn on when using the bathroom to get ready for the day. It will automatically start playing my personalized apple music station. Never have to pick music, itll just start playing something I like. Additionally I did have specific playlists for Car Play, my headphones. -When my battery reaches 69% it fetches a picture of Kevin from the office smirking and displays it at the top of my screen. Runable shortcuts -"New wallpaper" - Shortcut tap to randomly change my wallpaper from a desired photo album. Also have one for the lock screen. -HighResArtwork - copy an apple music song/album/artist link and run this shortcut for it to fetch and give you the highest resolution image of the artwork. -"send message" - really easy one, you can just create a shortcut to open a new message box to a person or group. I map it to the iphone "action" button on the left side as the quickest way to send my significant other a message as quickly as possible You can map any shortcut to that action side button. I should be able to, haven't yet, I want to set up one that opens my garage door when I come up to the house.
