Heather in Nevada City - Walkabout
Added 2024-12-09 15:00:16 +0000 UTCI wanted to shoot even more of that casual vacation vibe using the funsaver lens, but I also wanted it to be a full scene from beginning to end. So, Heather and I start off on the hotel room balcony for some cute town shots and worked our way down to reception where she asked for food recommendations. They directed us to a coffee place, but the line was crazy long so we bounced and took a bunch of pictures around their quaint downtown district. We came around the backside of our hotel and cruised the hallways, snapping photos wherever we saw fit. Eventually, we make it back to her room, where she couldn't resist giving us a peek.
We finally made our way back to the hotel room, Heather already with one boob out. We had already shot the White set on these chairs and with this light so I didn't want this to look TOO similar, so I got the idea to try some exciting new angles!
This set closes out the Nevada City series, and I want to thank you folks for the huge amounts of support that have allowed for trips like this to happen. Everytime you resub, buy a bts, tip on a random post, it goes towards more special location events like this where Heather shines. I also liked telling the story of how this whole thing unfolded in real time, through photos, both the context of each scene and the tech stuff (talk about field experience!). Finally, huge thank you to Heather who basically made this whole trip happen by coordinating the location, most of the wardrobe and even took creative lead on a few of the scenes. You really can't ask for more as a photographer, and I'm blessed to have been able to work with her these past 9 years.
TECH STUFF:
Used the dispolens/kodak funsaver for this scene. As I mentioned before, the low profile of the lens makes the entire camera apparatus extremely compact, and the design of the 'glass' gives the shots such a sexy fucked up look. As I typically do with shots from this lens, I had the final images printed then scanned them back into lightroom for further touch ups to help get rid of the extreme sharpness that modern cameras add that doesn't quite look right with this lens's gritty aesthetic.
