Heather Monique - Cathedral
Added 2024-12-16 14:00:13 +0000 UTCI picked up this Airbnb with Heather and I instantly knew that I wanted to feature her, in this room, with these giant cathedral-like windows, at sunset. Heather came out looking amazing in this glam-gold dress that was jussst a little see through. Her makeup with the red lips were giving Mena Suvari vibes, too. So, we quickly rotated the whole couch/table setup 180 degrees, snapped a few shots, and I move the table around a bit and *CRASH* I destroy an (allegedly) $80 vase. Cleanup would've taken too long, so I set it up to be in the shot and we rolled with it. We were crazy pressed for time as we had a short shoot day planned and it was mostly during a 39 minute Golden Hour. The photos came out practically exactly how I envisioned it when I saw the room in the listing, very happy with that.
I'm still working through my feelings on this Rokinon 35mm 1.4 that I lambasted earlier this year. I want to say 90% of my Heather shoots are 50+mm with the occasional weird ultrawide (funsaver included), so this is kind of a new compression factor than what we're used to I think. I have to say, it does amazing things to boobs; I used this lens with Anais Dior back in the day, and I remember noticing it then. At the same time, it's just wide enough to capture some of the space so you get some context in there too. As it turns out, almost everything we shot here is on the 35 because it was the best lens for that job (that I had on my person), so expect more from this glass!
