Hi everybody,
this is a visual update on the Stave Church: it's almost done! I am running the last steps of test printing and supporting, then everything will be upoaded.
This set is by far the most ambitious I have ever done: the church is gargantuan BUT, unlike the Doors of Baragun and last month's Big Top Tent, it is engeneered to be easily printed and assembled rather than a visual presentation device.
As always, it is modular and sliced up for small printers (which is the current process) and has already some Objects and Props (mainly doors, pilalrs, themede decorations, railing), but more will come (Mainly Torches, War Horns, Altar & Weapons). Oh, and there are different options for the decorations: crows, spirals, the Kunnigdreki dragon head and a couple of spear points.
I am trying out a new OpenLOCK magnet clip, extremely simple but far more strightfoward and easy to use, which will be released with this set. Most of the modular pieces you can spot in the images will be magentizable or have small pins for assembly, so that you can choose between costumization and a stronger build. Extra wooden supports for the main roof will also be included, so that you can build a solid and playable structure (on multiple levels!).
The tiles are extremely detailed and decorated (e.g. you can spot viking style and crow patterns in the main walls). Since they are OpenLOCK and modular, you can build smaller buildings with them, as well as castle interiors, courtyard (with the external walls), viking dungeon ruins... imagination is the limit.
Since these are large surfaces of resin (and the structure is very large), it is likely that they will warp a bit, so, for assembly bending (warm water and hairdryers) and sanding will presumably be necessary to achieve the best results, depending on your resin and printer.
That's it for now. I definitely misscalculated the amount of work necessary to make this set, but I never want to compromise on quality, and that's why it is taking me some extra time (Holidays? What are those?). Everything about the Stave Church will be ready by the end of the month.
I am really excited about this set and I can't wait to hear your thoughts about it :)
Thank you deeply for the support: it is thanks to you that this project and these models can exist and be used at our tables, and I really can't express how grateful I am for this!
I wish you happy hobby time!
