Hi everybody,
the Stave Church is finally done and uploaded!
In total this set contains 74 structural pieces (excluding split parts for small printers), plus decorations, objects and props, making it the largest OpenLOCK building I ever made so far. It is 56 cm long, 62 cm tall and 45 cm wide, but the good news is, as always, that it is mostly completely modular! You can just print the tiles and/or parts of the roof and kitbash your own churches/models. A bit of hobby work will be necessary, but that depends mostly on printers, resins and pojects!
To make printing this massive project as easy as possible I made instructions that I hope you'll find detailed and well organized. Each level (floors/roofs) of the structure is devided for clarity, with the exact number of pieces needed to print it and, if needed, indications when to mirror some of the files in the slicer. I didn't mirror them myself in order to keep the folder lighter and to avoid pumping up the number of parts (it is really just a click in the slicer, which you can do to presupported files too).
The tiles are highly detailed and decorated (new wood textures and metal patterns) and you can customize most decorations. Moreover, to make assembly easier (especially for the roofs) there are cylindrical holes on the side of most parts that can host pins or magnets, which are also given in the OpenLOCK clips folder. Dimensions and more info on the instruction images.
This month I am also releasing "magnet bullets" that you can use to magnetize the OpenLOCK tiles without printing the hole clip and without removing and cleaning the support columns that come with the OpenLOCK system. More on that in the instructions :)
Finally, the Objects and Props are finished too, with the Ravencry axe in all its glory!
Let me know what you think about this set :)
Since it is sooo late this month I have already sent out invites and updates to redeem the models on MMF. I am not uploading this last batch of models to drive since I am removing the links to the drive folder today. You will always be able to download the models from MMF, but send me a message if you need them directly, and I'll provide you with a link!
And now for less exciting news. This month's project was waaay too time consuming. Making a building this large at this level of quality required more hours than I expected, and that meant less time dedicated to the minis and the Welcome Pack Expansion. I don't want to rush them at the cost of quality, so I decided to postpone their release. I saved a list of the accounts that supported the page this month, and you will receive these minis as soon as they are ready, which should be in the first half of next month. My policy is to never publish models that I wouldn't be excited to print myself, and I don't want to renounce to that. So, you will receive an additional redeem mail next month for the extra models, and I'll make sure to make a post to highlight that.
I know it's not great news, but this means higher quality sculpts, and I hope that balances the delay :)
I am really happy with the release this month, and I hope you'll find it useful! It has been an intense month, so, even more than usual: thanks for the patience and the support!
Now, back to the Airship Interiors, more on them soon. In the meanwhile, I wish you happy hobby time! :D
