Hi everybody,
the Airship Interiors are finally here!
(links in the Patrons only post).
With this release I wanted to make a versatile ship that was as modular as possible while keeping playabilty & that classic ship look, and this is the result!
As always with these sets, the complete build of this ship is huge: 68 cm long, 13 cm tall and 18 cm wide. It is cut for small printers and mostly modular.
By mostly I mean that you can change the lenght (thanks to the straight sides), the style (crystals/regular) and the function (cannon broadside, full cargo, with rooms, etc...).
You can even use the interior tiles to make any wooden dungeon of any dimension; by keeping only the round sides you can also enlarge the ship to simulate the gargantuan admiral ship of an aerial flotilla, or you can remove the middle floors to build the interiors of a thin, fast and deadly Skyhunter.
The only limitations of the ship's modularity are:
- the extremely detailed wooden grain texture, which goes along the whole ship as one complete piece (this is just a detail and will be noticeable only if one looks for it);
- the front and the back of the ship, since accounting for any possible build/width would have been madness.
Instructions on the build, OpenLOCK tiles & optional magnet/pins are inside the relative folders.
Since I wanted to make this set as versatile as possible (not every GM has Airship/Skyship in their games) I included a complete hull to make this work as a regular boat, as well as several side variants for the iconic cannon broadside look (why do I keep thinking of Tau?) and as a wall-less cargo.
I also took the chance to include crates and barrels with new textures, and I did my best to make a huge array of objects and props to furnish the ship (46 models including variants).
The release also comes with arcane crystal cannons, crystal "engines" responsible of keeping the ship vertically hovering over the ground and floating scatter terrain crystals, because why not. Those too are really large and come sliced for small printers, with the cuts made so that even if they were not to fit perfectly (because of resin warping), they still would make sense as cracks in the crystal.
All of this to say: even if you don't really care about ships, you can find lots of scatter terrain, objects and props to furnish dungeons and build encounters (those floating crystals are a great centerpiece for a dungeon's final room!).
Check the images for all the parts!
I am really excited to finish building my own ship (I've been binging some Critrole recently). What do you think? :)
The Airship Automata, the PDF & the Welcome Pack expansion are coming soon!
Last but not least, the thing that if I were you, I'll probably be asking right now: where is the Deck of the ship? As it is, this release is huge and complex with many options and modular variants. There was no way to fit the upper part of the ship (with masts & sails & captain cabin etc) without reducing the quality of these interiors dramatically. That is why I decided to stick with the poll entry and go only for the interior/lower decks. But, since it doesn't feel too good to leave the ship as it is now, I will add the main deck to the poll for November (coming tomorrow). When it will be the turn of that release, the ship will be complete!
September will be the Magic Item Shop, as decided by the last poll.
That's everything for now :)
Let me thank you a lot for your support and patience. I always strive to make the best and most detailed models possible in a month's worth of one person's time, so I hope you'll find the wait worth it!
I wish you happy hobby time :D
