Hi everybody,
after a long wait and many, many failed prints, the release is finally done!
In the render you can see the modular bridge, the outpost and the Welcome Pack expansion: a coach!
Modular Bridge- This one has a curve standard section and a modular middle section that can be expanded at will. It can be also expanded laterally by adding extra pavement tiles and vertically, depending on your terrain and needs. This expanded bridge needs the slopes of a river bed to make sense, since otherwise the "road" level will remain suspended above ground. Making them in foam is probably the best choice, and there are tons of tutorial online on how to make DIY hills and sloped terrain (if I can suggest one, RP Archive has one that makes awesome ones https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_GlAwT-eDc ). Maybe you already have some, and in any case you can cut out the shape of the extended bridge and use it by sliding it in!
The bridge also connects directly to the modular road: it has an OpenLOCK base that can be hidden by the small stair you see in the render.
Outpost - This set was designed on a few patrons' requests. People asked a bottom stone/rock layer for stone fantasy buildings, and to that I added the top layer to make it make sense as a stand alone element in this release.
The top part could definitely use more and different building tiles, but that would enlarge even more the release, which is already at quite an expansive stage! Hopefully I'll be able to get back to that in future releases. As always the idea is to combine this set with the extensive library of objects and props (and tiles) released previously, which can be combined for a richer structure (e.g. I'm thinking viking shields on the wooden battlements to make them more menacing).
There are many more pieces for the bottom part than those used in the small composed outpost. You can use them to build endless structures by combining them with other "regular building" sets (e.g. Napping Puss Inn and Boasting Cock Tavern) to make complete buildings. They work exactly as all my other OpenLOCK sets: I suggest starting small and adding pieces as you need them to make the buildings your world needs.
Finally, for the Modular Cart expansion: a coach cart. Stuff some nobles in there and send your players on a quest to defend them - or kidnap them! It should make for a good centerpiece for a road encounter. It is scaled up a bit to make it more playable, so keep that in mind if you aim for high fidelity scale :)
That's it for now. I hope you like what you see and that you'll find it useful for your tables and hobby endevours!
All the models are uploaded on drive & MMF, for which I just sent out new invites. Let me know if for some reason no message arrived or if there is any trouble with redeeming them.
I'll be back before the end of the month with a preview of the Pirate Hall, which is by far the winner for June!
Thanks for the support and the patience. I wish you a happy hobby time! :D
