Hi everybody,
the Hunters' Hall is ready!
This release is composed of three parts:
- Hunters' Hall OpenLOCK modular structure. There is more to this set that it may seem at first: it has a lower rock and wood level that is compatible with the Outpost set, an upper wooden level that comes with an OpenLOCK and non-OpenLOCK variant in case you want higher walls for a "hall-like" room (check the renders for reference), it has options to build an inside gallery and an outside terrace. It also has interior rooms, walls, and floors, as well as a roof modular in length! All these models come joined for easier printability or split for easier playability (once again, check the lists and renders :) ). There is also a large variety of shapes and details for you to choose from.
You don't need to print everything you see in the render: this is just one option of countless you can make with this set. Start small and have fun with it :) A more "viking longhouse" look should be attainable by printing only the bot "playable" parts of the lower walls and positioning the roof right on top of them. This should make for a shorter building that resemble a (unhistorical but still) cool viking longhouse! I couldn't render it in time for this release, but I will post some pictures of that when the trophies are ready.
The roof is the most delicate part - as always - since it is made of large slabs of resin. However, with this one I tried a new technique with the beams that go through its structure. These beams are hollowed and can host any kind of rod (like wooden barbeque skewers) that can go most of the way through multiple of them and make alignment easier. These roof sections require assembly on the middle line, and will definitely benefit from heat to realign them if they bend while printing or curing, depending on your settings.
- Hunters's Hall Objects and Props: the renders speak for them. You can furnish the hall with tables, with the large notice board and a cooking fireplace with some decor. The tables and benches in particular are modular in length: you can glue together a few of them for the longhouse table look, or just use them as brawl ready scatter terrain. The notice board is huge: this is where people come and nail the bounties for monsters that infest the town's surroundings. You can print your own bounties on paper and glue them to the empty notice board or you can print and paint the version with contracts already on top. I think it is a great visual center piece for this set, since I know my players will immediately go and check for side quests there :)
- Hunters's Hall Armory: once gain, the renders show most you need to know. A few weapon stands come already arranged for faster printing, or you can make your own by combining weapons and shield bits with the empty stands. I love how these shields work by the way: I'd basically glue them on anything vaguely fantasy viking! I had to restrain myself from covering the whole roof in the render with them.
Finally, the forth part - the trophies - and the cart expansion are coming soon.
Let me know what you think about this set. I love the aesthetic and I think it brings a lot of value, especially if combined with previous sets, objects and scatter terrain. With the I think you can now make a lot of different (high?) fantasy viking villages!
Links are on the pinned post and invites are already out.
That's it for now. I should be back in a few days with updates on the page, the poll and what's coming next :)
Thanks again for the support, and I wish you a happy hobby time! :D
