Poll for September
Added 2023-08-12 08:00:04 +0000 UTCHi everybody,
there is a new entry to the poll: the Gate the the Sea of Stars. I have a specific portal design in mind that I want to create for the end session of the campaign I am currently GMing. The party is going to face the BBEG as they try to summon Valravn, an ancient crow themed god, from this portal (if it sounds familiar, it appeared in the Viking Stave Church released almost exactly one year ago, although with a slightly different name). It’s a classic set up, but very cool for a dramatic final battle!
If any of you is looking for that kind of specific terrain, or you just thought of a use for it, you know what to vote for :)
The Gate to the Sea of Stars. A towering circle of rock and magic, inscribed in forgotten runes. The Gate to the Sea of Stars is a portal to planes lost in the memories of ancient people, who worshiped ancient gods. Only the most reckless of mages would attempt opening it again. - This set will contain the Gate itself - a gargantuan portal structure that works as the centerpiece of a summoner boss battle - as well as scatter terrain ruins and decorative statues. I’m thinking Elven for the ruin’s theme since I haven’t made anything elven yet, but I’m open to suggestions!
Hell's Port. A host of parrots greets the ships coming to port. They laugh and taunt the weary sailors, but they're ready to flee at the sight of a gun. For Hell's Port is a place of pirates, and gunpowder and bullets are its currency. - This set will contain modular wooden docks (with barnacled and sea-claimed parts), a kingpost crane and a fisherman/raider small ship (slightly smaller than the viking ship size).
Ellirmilborg’s Ruin Expansion. Crows perch on half collapsed roofs, examining the bodies on the ground, contended by rats and worse creatures. Some still dwell among the ruins, but death has now claimed the place. - The central piece of this set will be a ruined fantasy imperial-style tower with a few smaller buildings (OpenLOCK set). There will be scatter terrain with ruins, debris and the remains of war, useful for any battlefield.
The Siege Tower. The sound of battle cries, orders and the clashing of swords fill the air. Catapults and ballistas spit their death on the town’s wall, but the eyes of the besieged widen in fear at the sight of the towers: slow but steady, approaching the bastions with their load of screaming foes. - A modular siege tower that can also be built as a solid wooden outpost. Objects and Props will contain anything useful in a siege and a few customization options to change the siege engine to non-human races (I’m thinking orcs, inspired by that iconic Pelennor look!).
Hell! Scourging heat and blood-chilling wails: there is no mistaking the smell of sulfur and desperation that pollutes the air. We are in hell… - Jagged rocks, runic stones and devilish bone-structures: everything that you’d expect in fantasy hellish planes. With an Oblivion style portal to the lower hells!
The Blueteeth Tribe Camp. When the sun fades, the cries and laughter of the Blueteeth Camps can be heard from a great distance. Their brawling contests are as legendary as their skill in hunting, which are proven by the gargantuan corpses from which they build their homes. This fame alone is strong enough to dissuade lesser tribes from battling them. - A barbarian camp with tents and huts made from the remains of giant beats: ribcages, horns and hides. To furnish them, hunting objects and props as well as the everyday life items of the barbarians.
The Pyramid of the Sun. Many steps lead to the Altar of the Sun where the high priest communes with the Gods. Below, in the depth of the pyramid, many treasures sacred to the Serpent, the Lotus and the Macaw are guarded by silent wardens. - A mesoamerican pyramid (OpenLOCK set) with playable interiors and ritual objects and props, as well as its secret treasures and its stone snake wardens.
The Temple of Flowing Sand. A lonely temple in a valley of dead kings, resting for eternity. The sea of sand flows free between its colonnades. They say that in its deepest chamber the high priestess is still pondering the sky. - Ancient Egyptian style temple (OpenLOCK) with a decorated entrance, funerary objects and props, obelisks and colonnades.
Al'Nab, the Oasis. Thirsty and famished travelers often end up in Al'Nab with a sigh of relief. Although its name may seem ominous - the Tusk - it is a peaceful place... as long as you stay in your tent at night. - A fantasy Persia themed set, with a modular bazaar (OpenLOCK set), its precious contents as Objects and Props, and camels!
The Labyrinth. A thin rope made of red silk. "If you lose this, you will be lost." They ventured between the towering rock walls of the house of Asterius, never to be seen again. - A greek-style labyrinth terrain (OpenLOCK set), with greek themed objects and props and the lair of the minotaur! The Avrean Oracle is a good example of its style.
That’s it! I’ll be collecting the results at the end of next week, while I finish working on some other stuff, some updates and the updated catalog.
May the best location win!
Thank you for the support, and I wish you a happy hobby time!

I really want the Pyramid and Temple of Flowing Sand but the Gate to the Sea of Stars sounds so cool. Sigh, choices, choices...
