Hi everybody,
the second and final part of the release is up! Two sets join the ones already released: catapults and the town wall.
- Catapult Set. Sliced and built to be moveable (the counterweight arm and the pulling mechanism can rotate in their slots), and/or you can choose to build it as a loaded catapult, as a firing one or as one that has just shot, glueing arms and projectiles in the relative position. I didn't make a rope for the this one since I find it to look less believable than simple hobby string or kitchen string, and a lot harder to work with: binding string to the catapult ring and the mechanism will take less time (and cost less) than printing and cleaning the resin rope imo. For projectiles you can choose between classic rocks, or a shower of skulls! I really like the grim vibe of those (Did someone say release the prisoners?). At the end of the day you can place anything really in the catapult arms by picking from previous sets (... exploding barrels?).
- Simple Town Wall. It felt weird to make a Siege Tower but nothing to siege with it. You can stage a town wall battle with a few blocks of these walls and the tower in front: simple but effective :) You can also combine it with Castle Wyrthstolt buildings for extra variety and details: they won't join perfectly since these are mostly not OpenLOCK, but they can be placed in layers, for example, to represent the double wall of a fortress. The style is the same! (The vertical walls are not OpenLOCK so that they print with less resin, while the battlement is, so that you can place minis on top more easily. The channels are meant to reduce weight and can host 3mm barbecue skewers for stability.)
You can find these models in your MMF library (and in the second folder link above).
Finally, the results for the polls coming this June and July are in! The two new entries win by a considerable margin, with the Labyrinth coming third. The Spider Den will be released next month (June) while the Underdark Flora set will come in July! I have been working on some dark elf / spiderish terrain, and I can't wait to show you what's coming :)
That's it! I'll be back with wip pictures of the new set before the end of the month.
Thanks a lot for the support, and I wish you a happy hobby time! :D
