I spent hours making a really stupid set, and I'm very satisfied. I don't know how it happened, but I ended up making a gross optical illusion style room for my set. I think it works for this nerdy girl character who's obsessed with her gun shirt. My script is incredibly strange and complicated so I'm trying hard to reign it in and create a legible story.
Here are the main components of my script:
A girl is obsessed with her gun shirt and is confused and ashamed of her obsession.
The shirt is sentient and is afraid of guns in movies.
The girl and the gun shirt want to understand each other.
The girl and gun shirt go to "gun flavoured places" trying to figure out the obsession. They visit the Army shop and antique gun replica museum.
The gun shirt starts looking for ways to influence the girl, making suggestions that sound like she's trying to possess the girl.
The girl struggles against possession and (like in Dune) she grapples to gain agency against a powerful internal voice.
The girl has a final showdown fight against the gun shirt to resist possession and gain the gun shirt's allegiance.
The script is basically finished but the last two plot points are not very fleshed out. I'm not sure yet how to give the girl the knowledge to resist possession. I'm trying to use Dune as my guide!
I feel excited and back on track eek! Your continued support while I was in pain with migraines has made it so much easier to come back to making things, so thank you. I sincerely mean it. Most artists don't have what I have.
