Thoughts on Ramona chap2part 2

Hey everyone!

I didn’t get much feedback on Ramona Chapter 2, Part 2, even though I really thought this episode had something unique — both visually and narratively — that might spark reactions.

This part was a slow burn, almost meditative at first. I spent a lot of time shaping the landscapes — not just as backgrounds, but as emotional markers. The idea was to create a sense of progression: a long walk into isolation, into something both sublime and increasingly primal. I actually used five different landscapes to get the transition right — combining rocky mountain passes, alpine lakes, pine forests… At one point, I even used the Scottish Highlands as the base for the massage scene, because they had this soft misty quality I couldn’t find elsewhere.

Then came the lake. That scene really mattered to me. I wanted the water to feel unreal — crystal-clear, almost sacred. Like nature holding its breath. But of course, technically it was a nightmare. Reflections, transparency, color balance — everything had to be tweaked manually. And I wanted it to contrast sharply with what follows: Ramona letting go, the eruption of violence, dominance, and confusion around the fire.

Speaking of the fire: building that final scene was one of the hardest. I had to model the tent to sit naturally on an uneven rock surface, adjust every shadow cast by the campfire, and even add layers of sand on top of submerged gravel to get that shimmering color that made the light feel warm and “real.” I don’t know if anyone noticed, but the sand almost glows in some shots — that’s not accidental.

But beyond the technical stuff, I think what I liked most in this chapter was watching the relationship change — very subtly. You see Ramona's tone shift, you see Tim unsure, and something dark begins to creep in. They’re still together, but not the same way they were at the start. Power is shifting, and it’s not clear if that’s exciting or dangerous.

I guess I wanted readers/viewers to feel a bit unsettled — to wonder: where is this going? Are we watching a love story, or the beginning of something else entirely?

Anyway, that’s a bit of what went on behind the scenes. Thanks if you’ve made it this far! :) Would love to hear your take on it.

Next comix : Origins Chapter 3: Basia thinks, thanks to her companion's help, that she's on her way back to civilization, but things are definitely not going to go as planned... Expect a pivotal moment in the Valkyrian saga.

I really enjoy the Ramona story. Actually, I love it and as always, what sets your comics appart and better from everyone else's is all the amazing details in the renderings and the complexities of the plot. I do like the tone shift and the new uncertainty in their relationship. In my heart I do hope they end up being each other's number 1 forever and that Ramona ultimately protects and loves him but ultimately dominate him like the alpha she is.. but wherever you take this story, I will always love it. Thank you, again for your amazing comics.

Good Basia is back .
