1- Working at Valkyrian

Ben was forty when he was hired at Valkyrian, a corporation unlike any other. At first glance it seemed sleek and modern, with its glass towers, minimalist offices, and promises of cutting-edge innovation. But soon he realized there was something deeper, stranger, about the place. Valkyrian wasn’t just an employer—it was a kingdom ruled by women. Not ordinary women, but towering, sculpted figures with the kind of beauty that made him stumble over his words and the kind of strength that made his stomach knot with unease.

From the very first week he noticed the atmosphere. Men kept their heads down, moving briskly through corridors, always careful not to draw too much attention. The women, in contrast, strode through the building with a confidence that bordered on predatory. Their heels clicked like signals of authority. Every smile looked like a test, every glance a reminder of the hierarchy. Ben found himself unconsciously pressing his back against the wall whenever one passed too close, sensing the silent tension that governed Valkyrian life.

It was the elevators that terrified him most. Colleagues whispered warnings: Don’t get caught alone. Rumors swirled of men pinned between gleaming walls, overwhelmed by the sheer physical dominance of women who seemed to enjoy the fear they inspired. Even the cafeteria felt charged; laughter from a table of Valkyrian executives was enough to make men at the next table clear their trays and leave, as if proximity itself carried risk. The company’s culture wasn’t written in handbooks, but lived in every look, every interaction.

His role required him to cross the photography studio one afternoon, a place infamous among male staff. The walls displayed posters of women—taller, broader, more defined than athletes—posed like living goddesses. The shoot was in progress: half a dozen models in crop tops and shorts, sweat glistening on their skin under the lights. They turned their heads as one when he stepped inside, their eyes locking on him, making his pulse spike. For a moment he felt like prey wandering into a predator’s den. The photographer smirked but said nothing. It was as if his discomfort was the real product on display.

In time, Ben realized that Valkyrian was less a workplace and more a proving ground. The men survived by staying invisible, while the women thrived in their brilliance, their dominance, their unapologetic rule. He didn’t know whether to fear it or admire it. Each day he walked in, straightened his tie, and reminded himself not to end up in the elevator alone. Yet beneath the fear was a gnawing curiosity: part of him wondered if this was the future—an empire of women, beautiful and merciless, where men had no choice but to adapt.
