it only occured to me after the polling period that it probably wasn't the wisest idea for me to feature the first runner-up of the last poll in the next one as one of the choices.

don't get me wrong, i still love the lil guy, but i wanna give some of my lesser popular characters some love too y'know?

anyway, thank you very much for all your interest and support in the direction i'm taking for my personal art related stuff- it truly does mean the world to me.

sappy stuff aside, here's some lore notes;

"i've been on this plane for a long time- very long. so long in fact that i've seen all those so-called 'monsters' and 'myths' that many common folk believe only be tall tales; just stories to spook young children.
one of the most daunting beings i've ever come across was a soulbound entity, one that had entire worlds cease at the mere creak of its ancient, malevolent jaw. ironically enough this being currently comes in the form, of a young child.
their house-given name is not something i bothered to commit to memory, mostly because no matter what name they might be given now, they have one that they already carry.
eternity wasn't very pleased in finding such a vile being materialized on the mortal plane, and with a host no less. as the keeper, it is under my responsibility to keep this sort of thing from occurring. the fault here, was mine.
luckily i caught it out rather early. this was not exceptionally challenging, having hushed whispers speaking of a noble house and their secret newborn son.
in only a few short years, most of all housekeepers working under the estate have seemingly been replaced- or as some have said, disappeared completely.
my curiosity piqued, i decided to investigate. not soon after, i discovered why such a high standing family have garnered the interest of the town, and the cause of all those missing people.
from the roof i watched this small boy, one of a sweet and gentle demeanor, walking out onto the garden grounds. he sat down happily amongst a batch of wolf's-bane, several birds and butterflies flocking to his calm atmosphere.
it seemed very- picturesque.
that was until one such butterfly landed on his outstretched finger. he admired it with such an innocent smile as he lifted it up closer to his maw. i could only imagine he whispered something- softly, barely loud enough to hear in the tranquil breeze blowing between the flowers.
and in the next moment, all the insects and birds around him fell dead out of the air. he only smiled and giggled to himself as he watched the lifeless husk of that brilliant bug fall to the floor.
the next night, i paid him a visit. while i couldn't do much with my current form- i'm sure he won't be murmuring much else for the foreseeable future."
-an old report, signed by a 'silt' addressed as 'the first'

oh boy, this was a longer write-up for sure, but i had a hard time just giving a lil bit of lore for one of my first characters written into my stories. hopefully you had a nice read, and i hope to see you all next month!

stay cool,

-G
