You guys should really look into the patent claims Nintendo is making. It’s not about them copying designs. It’s more about what they have a patent on. Like for example: throwing a ball at a creature and capturing it. Not designs. And also Nintendo sucks for this. I absolutely agree with Kaya here. Nintendo is lazy and sucks ass with Pokémon games and Pal World is actually innovating on the idea so they’re just being mad babies. This will just silence other small devs from making creature collecting games. Other games that do this exist that Nintendo hasn’t sued over so why is Pal World any different? It’s just sad and if you defend Nintendo in any way you’re part of the problem.

She died at age 57, and finally had a life she was proud of. After a life time of struggle and misery.... That beginning of thAt movie hit HARD... Was weeping like a little child on the bus... Nintendo practically copied their designs from dragon quest. Like literally Google that and see how blatant that is. And copyright is not even why they are suing and even if it was, all those videos were proven false and there isn't a clear rip of designs, and if there was, Nintendo is guilty of the same. I wish they listened to Jackson or at least looked it up before shutting him down and calling it the same thing. They are suing over patents regarding game design which is fucked up and sets a messed up precedent where companies can keep other companies from innovation and creating their own original mechanics based on vague, far reaching patents (like how they patented loading screen mini games and now no one can do that, so loading screens suck for everyone). If they win, more companies are going to patent vague mechanics to stifle competition and overall fuck game innovation. Nintendo recently fucked over another indie company by suing them over even more vague designs like a menu popping up after resuming the game, and basic game ideas like that. Nintendo didn't even win that lawsuit, they just bled the smaller company by wasting their money in court until they were forced to settle and even pay Nintendo to license these basic game mechanics that MANY games use, prior to even Nintendo using them. Like suing them for making a trap, when there's been traps to capture animals for all of time and many designs of such in games and shows beyond pokemon (think Kaiju capsules or DragonBall's capsule corp capsules). I really hope you guys talk about this again next week cause it should make you worry about large companies claiming conceptual real estate and patenting concepts in hopes of fucking over competition and mitigating innovation. Like one day developers are going to worry more about what patents they might accidentally defy using common sense game mechanics, rather then worry about making the best games possible. Oh and the patents they are suing for weren't even claimed until after palworld came out, but Japan allows retroactive patent enforcement.

The Palworld segment was missing an incredible amount of information. Starting with: the videos "proving" Palworld stole the skeletal models were proving false, although some of the models do strongly resemble Pokémon. The other fact, is that Nintendo is arguing their patent of "catching an animal in a trap by throwing" is specific enough, even though this patent was made after the release of Palworld. I am also surprised they took this long to sue Palworld, but their grounds are verifiably weak. If Nintendo wins, they will set a precedent that their can make up patents whenever they do choose, and throw their weight around more than ever. "Catching an animal by throwing a trap" will be outlawed in video games, and we won't see innovation for years to come. Example: Middle Earth Shadow of War' nemesis system is patented. No one is legally allowed to innovate on a system where enemies level up and remember your character from previous encounters, to a stifling degree.

To me, the most fucked thing about credit in the US isn't just that you need it for everything. On paper, it seems like it's supposed to benefit those with less money by allowing them to buy something expensive in small, affordable monthly payments. However, if you have no credit, your payments start off very high, making it difficult to pay those monthly payments, which in turn causes you to higher payments when you get things on credit in the future. If you're able to pay it on time, then future debts will have lower monthly payments. It's designed so that those who can't easily afford things are punished while those who have the money are rewarded. It's such a broken system. The whole thing works against you, and you need it for everything. Wanna buy a house? Gotta have credit, doesn't matter if you have the money for it outright.

About country debts: So most countries operate on debt. A country's debt is not owed to a single person/institution/other country, it's a myriad of little loans from a huge number of places.
