2024-09-29 03:34:31 +0000 UTCHey, massive Stephen King and specifically IT fan here - you boys got it right about that *scene* in that it was about the loss of innocence and becoming adults and strengthening their bonds, etc. But additionally there are a lot of heavy handed overtones of sex and sexual imagery throughout the whole book too and that’s why that act was in the book. I think the big issue with it is the fact that it’s like 5-10 pages long and in excruciating detail. Like them doing that *act* in the book makes sense in the context of the story and themes, but King could have just heavily implied what happened or explicitly state what happened. But having a detailed 5+ page scene describing every aspect of what’s going on like it was some hentai smut fanfic was just WILD. Anyways it’s cool to hear you all also enjoy reading horror novels and Stephen King’s IT specifically. It’s by far my favorite horror novel (other than the above mentioned scene………)

Jokes aside, very good, but very heavy episode, it was nice to hear Gooner’s take on how he views cults that corrupt the Word of Christ and the type of anger or malice it instills (especially to someone like me, a non Christian).

Plus it’s happening at regular intervals. It has to be something to do with the file corruption, or on the audio processing level after the fact. Like a bitrate mismatch or something. I dunno, I haven’t worked in audio production in years. But it’s not the mic, cable, or preamp. It’s digital.
