I mean, let’s be honest here. Nobody was innocent. WW2 started because the Nazis and Communists cozied up to each other and invaded Poland together. Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact is talked about for a reason. The irony of two terrible ideologies working together then fighting each other while both committing atrocities. One is forgiven and acceptable by people and the other is the root of all evil. Some people accept communism today and downplay its evil, and call everyone else immoral, while downplaying atrocities. Those people are no better than the US government. “Oh, it really hasn’t been tried,” kinda sounds like “Oh, he was forced to watch over those concentration camps.” Humanity at its roots isn’t moral. In the end, everyone accepted evil to further their goals. Was it moral? No. Did it further scientific research, yes. Alot of the technology you currently use to type this was derived from Nazi scientists. Then again, the Japanese did just as bad if not worse genocides and atrocities, yet people celebrate them and consume their goods and media from companies that killed millions. Many other people refuse or don’t care enough to hold the Japanese accountable, because they gave us X and Y, those people are just as guilty. So, where is anyone’s moral high ground when we condemn the Nazis, but don’t hold the Japanese war criminals who got away and to some that started companies and are widely celebrated accountable? Another example is, Al Capone invented use-by date. He’s a murdering thief, yet we still use his invention daily. Are we moral? We didn’t commit the atrocities, we didn’t forgive them, but we use their ideas and inventions years later, are we just as forgiving cause of ease of life or likes? Wrap your head around that. In the end, morality is a concept chosen by the damned and foolish. Nazis, Communists, Japanese Empire, Federal Government, Italian Mobsters… morality doesn’t exist within a lot of things anymore.

Russians had labor camps before WW2 and long before their space program

People who commit necessary evils tend to forget they chose evil to begin with. It didn't stop with Nazi scientists though, Nazi war criminals involved in the mobile death squads were also recruited as stay behind forces for Operation Gladio. These stay behind forces were responsible for false flag terror attacks and killings of leftists. Journalists and historians have been slaving away to even follow the trails of these groups. Operation Gladio was a fringe theory, until it was confirmed to have exist by accident because of the italian government. America after WW2 took a policy of zero tolerance to any leftists, even formal colonized countries turning into democracies. If you didnt bend the knee to American Corporate interests you were communist, even if you chose neutrality. The ends never justify the means because they never end. Operation Paperclip is a minor part of the Nazi sympathies the intelligence community and by large the security state suffered from, Allen Dules worked as a lawyer (as well as his brother) for Sullivan & Cromwell which protected Nazi assets during the War. The CIA and OSS at the time were largely full of business men, it is not stupid to assume that many of their members had Nazi sympathies because of this. Since Nazis before WW2 were very cozy with Wall Street. Fascists after and before the war, were our friends. The war moved it underground, but after WW2 we could cozy up with Fascists with our mutual hate of Communists and love for Corporate and military interests. It becomes incredibly more easier to chose evil, when you have chosen it before. It becomes impossible to not chose it when all you see is the end goal which is always moving farther and farther away.

Fun Fact: Messerschmitt was located in my hometown so naturally it was under fire, mainly by america, and to this day, from time to time, undetonated ww2 bombs are found on construction sites, leading to evacuations while they defuse them or make sure they are inactive. I live near a former airbase and had to evacuate 2 times last year 😂 thankfully so far I haven't heard of a bomb actually exploding

Operation paperclip was fucked but a necessary evil. I get the morality of hiring nazis for your space program but Wendi's logic of "oh you hide it until you get the results real classy" or being mad at the fact the government hid it is emotional af. I was thinking yeah, it makes sense they hid it, and it makes sense to get those scientist before my enemy did. The soviets would've had all that technology otherwise and if we started punishing the nazis I don't think anyone would be satisfied with anything less then straight up executing said nazis. Yeah the government hid it because they wouldn't able to obtain / utilize the scientist otherwise and the US's tech tree wouldn't have got boosted. I guess whether you approve or disapprove depends on what you're more focus on, progress or punishment. Personally sometimes the ends do justify the means and vice versa. And its not like the scientist Nazis had any political power, yeah they were working with Disney but the sentence is scarier then the reality, animation is out there and you can check it yourself (im not one for guilt by association). Otherwise i'm pretty sure the nazi scientist didn't have anywhere near the political power vs power over their projects. its silly to think "yes we went to the moon, but at what cost" if you feel that way don't use almost any product that doesn't oppress someone in a third world country.

Patreon has a max amount of videos you can have uploaded, they try to save video space for things like movies otherwise they would have run out already

I need to share my autism on this, the point of LUSTY wasn't because germany was so far ahead of the us we needed to copy everything, it was because they just wanted to see what they were doing and evaluate it, american and British jets of a similar time were only marginally behind german ones. And the RS 28s nato reporting name is Satan (long story but it starts with S so its a surface missile), it's official soviet name is sarmat

Yall implied that the admiration of Vaughn Braun stopped after Operation Paperclip became public. Well fun fact, not in Huntsville Alabama. We have streets, an amphitheater, and a Space and Rocket Museum named after him to this date.

Red Hot Willy Pumpers

thats one thing that kinda frustrates me about this patreon. they should post the video versions here as well. even if they come a bit later because of editing id still like to be able to get them here because its ad free and convenient.

This was actually the second operation called Operation Lusty performed by the government. The first involved a series of experiments wherein scientists teleported soldiers while also simultaneously converting them into nymphomaniacal women (and later killer lizards).

Stay safe out there brother

Austino

Was it right absolutely not. Even if you say the ends justify the means. The ends NEVER justify the means because it NEVER ends.
