So I live in the ballsack of abalama, and yes Jackson, people will panic buy stores empty when a hurricane is coming. Gas stations run out of gas, people buy everything. Even for minor storms, if it's coming straight here, they panic buy. Media fear mongering also plays a huge role and makes it exponentially worse. I've seen houses boarded up for protection just for it to barely rain. Also it should be noted: during a mandatory evacuation, you NEED to leave regardless if what you think. Emergency services will not run during a mandatory evac. Even if you have a medical emergency unrelated to the storm and your area is fine, if it's under mandatory evac, they will not come.

Hey Jackson, you mentioned a pill treat alcoholism. I just got on Naltrexone, which has absolutely killed most of the physical urges of alcoholism. You still have to learn how to live with an addict brain post medication, but it makes the first part soooo much easier.

I really doubt it was Andrew. Its way more likely it was Charlie because who's right is very raw and uncensored comedy and the crybabies in Charlie's audience don't like that. Also Charlie in general has always been a fence sitter on touchy subjects so he probably wanted to stay far away from anyone who has a slightly controversial anything lol. So glad the podcast is free from that low-key, as much as I miss and loved Charlie on the pod.

However when helene came through it went through the Appalachian mountains, an area with a much higher poverty rate and without those shelters and rides in place. As someone who lives in WA, not only do we not experience extreme natural disasters, but the fentanyl talk hits home Fent is often added to a lot of other drugs but it's so widespread that people are purposely buying laced Percocets and smoking them to get the fentanyl high.
