Ok as a woman who’s played games my whole life there’s a big difference between an attractive character and a hyper specialized one. For example Lara Croft is pretty but she doesn’t constantly pose with her boobs and butt out. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with pretty characters. I think most people do prefer playing with pretty characters (me included) but twirling around with your butt/boobs out is a different thing entirely and makes it feel very catered to a male audience.

Yes it was a revolver you can see the ass and the tip of the bullet. A live bullet has a projectile sticking out of it, a blank is crimped and looks way different. In the end the armorer and alec should have been charged manslaughter at the least, ignorance doesnt change that he shot and killed people. Also Keanu reeves tooks special training before every john wick movie and yes they probably do go through and check every bullet before every scene in john wick because thats their job? Noone got shot on the set of john wick because they didnt allow live ammo on set, they were trained, they all did checks, they were adults and understood the dangers of what they were doing. Why is the argument of people not wanting "ugly" characters always turned into, they just want porn? Jackson I’m sorry, but your argument about women looking attractive in games is retarded. The whole “Well if the girls look hot it encourages sexual harassment of women” or whatever the hell it was? That’s just the “if you can shoot people in games it encourages you to shoot people in real life”. Just dumb. Also, Alec Baldwin should have been locked up, end of story. He was the main producer of the movie, so he sets the safety protocols. He should have, at the very least, checked the ammo to see if they were blanks or not (they really just shouldn’t be using real guns at all, effects can easily reproduce everything needed to make it look like a real gun shot) before even pulling the hammer back. The armorer is partially at fault of course, but he still shot and killed someone. Y’all had some other dumb take in this ep, but I already forgot. Ep was full of atrocious takes today. Alec was producer and in charge of production. Should’ve had better safety protocols. Also why did they have to shoot a scene where they fire a blank directly at someone. Hollywood has plenty of tricks they can use to make it appear as though you’re shooting at someone without actually doing it. If you’re using a real gun with real ammunition (blanks are still real and can still injure people) you have to take precautions.

Blank ammo does not look like real ammo. Its either an extra long case crimped together to hold the powder charge, or a paper cap pressed in to retain the charge. It is visually distinct from live ammo in that there is no projectile visible. It takes literally an instant to tell a blank from a live round. I dont think anyone disagrees with you that the armorer is also at fault. She had allowed live rounds on set prior to the death, and wasnt dealt with. Thats very clearly her fault, however Alec was also a producer for the movie, and should have had her removed from the production and didnt. As a staunch anti-gun activist, you’d think Alec would practice what he preaches about responsible gun handling, but instead he simply grandstands and profits off of movies featuring gun violence. Also, with John Wick, i have yet to see anything showing that every time they use a firearm that its all blanks the whole time. Blanks are notoriously unreliable when forced to run in guns not specifically not designed for them, so i am sure they only use blanks for close ups, not the duration of a firefight

I don’t care that they’re making women in games ugly, since statistically 49% of women in real life have below-average (technically median) looks. That’s just immersive. What I think is weird is how many games in recent years have started making their supposedly cisgendered female characters look unnaturally manly—broad shoulders, narrow hips, square jaws, and other indicators that they’re biologically male rather than just more masculine than the average woman. It’s just strange and unimmersive, since real cisgendered women don’t look like that. On a side note, I have heard that this is a concerted effort on the part of game devs to blur the lines between cisgendered and transgendered women in order to make it easier for trans women to pass. Basically, make people forget what physical markers denote biological sex so they can’t tell the difference anymore. Normally I’d chalk this up to the sort of “woke agenda” conspiracy theory that my aunt would share on Facebook, but apparently some game devs, including Neil Druckman, have openly admitted to it. I don’t know if this is true and I don’t care enough to check, since I rarely if ever play new games anyway.

Ive been around guns all my life and still regularly shoot guns, but even if youre not like that or even against guns how could you not recognize that what you are holding is a dangerous weapon/tool that can yes kill things, not double check? It litterally takes not even 2 seconds to open the chamber and see if its a blank or not. Hes a fully grown man that should have been mature and responsible enough to recognize the dangers of pointing a gun at someone regardless if he was acting or not. What if it was a knife and not a gun, and the armorer told him dont worry its a prop its platic and without checking just stabbed people to death?
