Red Thread Questions - The Mysterious Death of George Reeves

Hey Red Threaders!

Wanted to try something new for the next episode. I'm going to dedicate 15 minutes at the end to supporter questions (relevant to the topic only). Ask any questions about the topic, or any insight you may have.

The Mysterious Death of George Reeves

In 1950s Hollywood, George Reeves -- best known as the man behind Superman -- met an untimely end in a lonely bedroom at his home. Ruled a suicide by detectives, the evidence suggests otherwise. A gunshot wound to the head and a dinner party downstairs create a Hollywood murder mystery with many questions ready to dive into. This isn't the next Knives Out, this is the Red Thread.

Drop your questions or insight and theories and I'll pick the most liked and most relevant for the show! Let me know what you think of the idea as well (along with feedback on last week's episode)!

Thanks,
Jackson

If you had the opportunity to interview someone who was closely connected to Reeves (alive or dead), who would it be and why?

Braydon

You should drop Star Wars and try out Warhammer 40K

The whole situation is extremely interesting since not much is out atm. Personally I believe there could be some sort of foul play involved due to his wife and dog also being taken out unfortunately as well. And with the recent events of the epstien files as well it just leads to all sorts of new possibilities. That’s all I really can think of about this unfortunate current event. But one recommendation I have could be an episode pertaining to the Alaskan avenger especially with him possibly getting parole within the next few years. Love you all and I hope you have an amazing rest of your day. Cheers boys

I would love to hear Isaiah's thoughts about the gunpowder burn argument. I am also curious what you guys think about Jack Larson's statements when it comes to the case — was he genuine when he said he understood George's pain and why he would kill himself, or is he in on it? Do we know if Lemmon was wearing gloves on the night of the murder that would've obscured her fingerprints?

Who do you think is the one who did it?

This is the most caveman brain level of science possible and I love it. Freeze an animal and just put the microwave on defrost to see what happens

YungOwl

about the last episode: I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned but it is possible to freeze and reanimate small animals, the problem is when you scale it up it's harder to evenly reheat larger animals without causing damage (a British scientist tested this in the 50's by freezing hamsters and thawing them in a microwave and nearly all of them had no side effects). So maybe Walt Disney is just in a deep freezer under the park, wrapped in plastic like a burrito waiting for mankind to build a really really big microwave for him. P.S. Jackson, you owe me 1 million dollars for coming up with the question idea

I suggested the george reeves case on the last feedback posts, doubt I'm the reason it's being made but cool to see you guys are making it. An interesting facts about his upbringing is that he never saw his biological father, Don Brewer, after his parents had divorced very soon after his birth. This lead to his mom marrying another man called Frank Bessolo. Which Reeves considered his real dad. They separated years into the relationship while Reeves was away, and according to historians, his mother had lied and said his step-father had committed suicide. Geroge was estranged from his father after this divorce, and his step-father actually died years later.

Where there any suspicious balloons in the area?

BEEP

Don’t know much about it but looking it over a bit, Couple of things that could lead to the murder theory, 1. The gun was left with no fingerprints, and during the time the women that would be surrounding reeves (Hollywood types) would more than likely be wearing gloves so that could point the finger at one of the women who were in the house that night who shot him, maybe a jealous women or maybe an argument gone wrong 2. The general manager of MGM Eddit Mannix could’ve either hired someone or killed reeves himself when he found out that reeves left his wife (apparently mannix was okay with it cause he was also having affairs) also eddit had apparent connections with the mob What are y’all’s thoughts though?
